How to Install and open the HP Printer Software in Windows OS:
Insert the HP installation Drive onto the CD Drive of your Computer and follow the Automatic Setup onscreen instructions to complete 
the HP Officejet 5740 installation Download. Select from the list of Windows Versions to run the HP Officejet 5740 Printer Software. Alternately, open the Control Panel in your Windows OS and double-click to open the Printer folder. Click New Printer Installation and select the 123.hp.com/dj5740 Printers and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the Setup.

Insert the HP installation Drive onto the CD Drive of your Computer and follow the Automatic onscreen instructions Setup to complete the HP Officejet 5740 Printer Software installation. Open any File and Click Print and select 123 HP OJ5740 printer. Select the Properties button to open the Properties dialog box. According to Mac OS select Properties:

Procedure to Setup Web Services using Embedded Web Server:
Open the HP OJ5740 Printer Setup EWS home page on your Web Browser. Click the Web Services tab and select the Web Services settings. Click Setup and follow the on screen instruction and Click Yes to accept the terms of use. Click Yes if prompted for software update otherwise restart your HP Officejet 5740 Printer.
