Read general commands in the Help section for clearing paper jams. Paper jams can occur in several places.
To clear a paper jam from the input tray
- Tug the paper gently out of the input tray.
- Ensure that there is no foreign object in the paper path, and then reload paper.
- Tap OK on the printer’s control panel display to continue the current job.
To clear a paper jam from the output tray
- Pull the paper softly out of the output tray.
- Tap OK on the printer’s control panel display to proceed the current job.
To clear a paper jam from the cartridge access area
- Click the Power button to power off the printer.
- Close the output tray extender, and then replace the output tray clockwise to stow it in the printer.
- Access the front door of the printer.
- Access the cartridge access door.
- If the printer carriage is in the center of the printer, glide it to the right.
- Eliminate the jammed paper.
- Shut the cartridge access door, and then close the front door.
- Tug out the output tray and the tray extender.
- Press the Power button to Switch on the printer.
To clear a paper jam inside the printer
- Click the Power button to switch off the printer.
- Switch the printer over, place the clean out door on the bottom of the printer, and then tug both tabs on the clean out door to access it.
- Eliminate the jammed paper.
- Shut the clean out door. Softly push the door towards the printer until both latches snap into place.
- Switch the printer over, and then press the Power button to switch on the printer.
To clear a jam in the document feeder
- Raise the cover of the document feeder.
- Raise the tab located on the front edge of the document feeder.
- Softly pull the paper out of the rollers.
- Shut the cover of the document feeder, pressing down firmly till it snaps into place.
- Tap OK on the printer’s control panel display to proceed the current job.
